Tamariki Share Their Talent With Our Community

By December 4, 2025No Comments

Yesterday our Year 6–8 tamariki took their performances out into the community, bringing joy, music and connection to two local rest homes.

Half of the group welcomed residents from Maida Vale Rest Home to our school. Some familiar faces returned from their last visit, and there was an immediate sense of warmth and recognition. The residents were delighted by the performances, joining in with singing and enjoying a special item prepared just for them. They also loved watching the tamariki play a game together, creating plenty of smiles and laughter.

The other half of the group walked to Milife Bell Vista, where they performed in the community centre. Residents there were equally impressed and engaged—so much so that they began requesting songs for Matua Phil to play and sing along to. The atmosphere quickly turned into a lively and heartwarming sing-along.

These visits continue to strengthen our connection with the wider community and provide our tamariki with meaningful opportunities to share their learning, confidence, and kindness with others.

Ka rawe, tamariki mā!
