National Young Leaders Day 2024 – By Rhys Warring and Emma Lane.
On Wednesday at 4:30am our brave young leaders embarked on their journey to NYLD. After three hours in the car, we arrived in Palmerston North. After putting on our pink wristbands, we hurried into the theatre where NYLD was taking place.
There were 4 great speakers and an amazing singer called YAHYAH. They brought amazing energy and told us some wise things to make us better leaders.
Often throughout, there were dance breaks with a guy called Ezra.
With much reluctancy, we left the theatre. But to our surprise, the teachers came up with some fun challenges for us to do, including arcade games and op-shop dress up.
On the way home, we stopped at Mcdonalds Hawera where we all got dinner and arrived back at Puketapu around 7:00 pm.
A big thank you to the staff who made this possible for all the leaders. We had a great time!
