Our Learning

Te Marautanga o Puketapu

Te Marautanga o Puketapu (The Puketapu Curriculum) brings the New Zealand Curriculum to life in our unique local context. It honours who we are and locates us within our place, our community and our unique culture.

It acts as a guide for the Puketapu School and community to ensure that our tamariki experience the very best in teaching and learning. Our local curriculum is unique and responsive to the priorities, preferences, and issues of our community and for our people.

Our curriculum acknowledges Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the bicultural foundations of Aotearoa New Zealand. All students have the opportunity to acquire knowledge of te reo Māori me ōna tikanga.

This Puketapu curriculum was created after consultation with students, staff and the community. The information was curated and put together into this curriculum by leadership and signed off by the Board of Trustees.
