πŸ“£ Full School Assembly

After our last assembly was cancelled due to the yucky weather, we were excited to gather together today!

🌟 We kicked things off with a lively Kuni Kuni (dance) as students arrived and were seated. For the first time, we sat in our whānau groups – and it worked really well having our tuakana and teina together.

🎀 Our presenters, Summer and Dylan, did a fantastic job leading the assembly, with Quinn and Chayse working hard behind the scenes.

πŸ€ First up, we celebrated our Taranaki Basketball Reps:

  • Taine McKenna

  • Hamuora Adas

  • Ava Falaniko

  • Lyric Falaniko

  • Yasiin Falaniko

πŸ”₯ Next, we heard a news story about the devastating fire at the Marist Dragons Clubrooms and reflected on our amazing dress-up day and fundraising efforts.

🎢 We sang Haruru Ana (spot Mrs Pascoe in her bright blue furry coat!) – one of the school waiata we are learning for our whānau competitions.

πŸ† We then celebrated our Year 7 & 8 interschool teams, hearing from the captains of Netball, Rugby, and Football about their games in Hāwera yesterday.

⚽ Mr Lewis shared the legendary moment from the semi-final win with our Football team – featuring superstar Rangi Tau!

πŸ‘ Paki paki (clap clap) to all of our interschool players for representing our kura with pride and living our school values.

πŸ’ƒ Before we wrapped up, everyone joined in a fun Kuni Kuni to Waka Waka, filling the hall with energy and smiles!

🌟 Finally, we celebrated our Te Mako Matawhero Award winners:

Room 1 – James Terrill
Room 2 – Jaxon Gray
Room 3 – Luca Jayne
Room 5 – Asher Greenfield
Room 6 – Azalea Parkinson
Room 7 – Ruchita Medasetti
Room 8 – Chase Gallichan
