We were going to be heading up the mountain, but the road to the Visitor Centre was closed!
Instead, we took our bus to Pukekura Park and Brooklands Zoo.
We looked at nature in the park.
The playground is great fun!
Rolling down the hill at the Bowl of Brooklands is timeless...
... so is rolling in autumn leaves!
And of course we had a picnic!
Thank you so much to all the whanau who came with us. What a great day out!
Heaps of rugby talent on display at Puketapu School as we begin term two.
We have had a really strong start to the inter-school sports competition. The Puketapu year 5 & 6 rugby players have been enjoying themselves and training really hard. Last Thursday we held a Puketapu vs Puketapu friendly rugby game for practice.
Some great skills on display and students experiencing some healthy competition from their fellow team members.
Here we have a great action shot of the two captains, Maui Walker and Nathan Deacon.
A big thank you also goes out to Allana Prestney, who kindly lent us some jerseys and gear to borrow for our game. Well done to all the students involved with inter-school sports this term. Kia Kaha!
Rimu 3 have been learning about different shapes.
They had a go at recreating Paul Klee's "Castle and Sun" last week, using lots of different shapes.
It's fast, it's physical... and you can get pretty wet! Our Puketapu Piranhas played a great first game of Canoe Polo on Friday night. We play every Friday night at the Methanex Bell Block Aquatic Centre. Come along and support our team!

We have had some pretty cold and wet weather, but it won't stop us! As soon as the rain eases, we are out and about and doing with our friends... and a rainbow tops it off!
Our playground has heaps of things to do after the rain...
Our field is great to make up games...
There are always sports skills to practice...
... but sometimes just hanging with mates is the best!

Two teams took part in this year's PCT Challenge at the TSB Stadium. It;'s a tough course, with plenty of physical challenges, but we worked in our teams and did very well.
