We celebrated many special achievements at our final assembly of 2017.

As well as recognising achievements from tamariki from all classes and ages, we celebrated the graduation of our Year 8s and presented the winners of our senior trophies.

We also said farewell to some very special adults:

  • Mrs Vanessa Gotz is heading off on leave for a year
  • Mrs Maryanne Baylis retires after 33 amazing years at Puketapu School
  • Miss Anna Moratti heads to Southland to take up a new teaching placement
  • Mrs Gay MacKenzie finishes with us after many years of Reading Recovery

We wish them all the very best - we will miss them all.

There was singing, dancing and a whole lot of celebrating!

Tonight our hapori gathered in the quad on a beautiful summer evening, to join us in celebrating 2017.

Every class took part, presenting an item or two and some students humbled us with their speaking and singing. Our Home & School (PSG) kept us fed and watered and we raffled some amazing prizes again.

Thank you to everyone who has made 2017 such a special year for us all.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Rimu 4 had an adventure out to Stoney Oaks Wildlife Park near Inglewood.

We saw all kinds of animals: horses and turkeys, hairy highland cattle, rabbits, goats, possums, guinea pigs and even a llama!

We got to feed some of the animals.

What a great day out! Thank you Miss Sharrock and all of our parent helpers.

Our Year 5 & 6 students joined hundreds of other Taranaki tamariki to take part in this year's Tough Kid Challenge.

What an amazing day of challenges...

...for teams and individuals!

Running, climbing, sliding...

It was hard work, but great fun.

Well done to Mr Lindsay and Mrs Haenga for their effort in the Teachers' Challenge!

Rimu 1 went to visit Mrs Paterson's farm.

She has lots of interesting things to learn about!

Mrs Paterson is a bee-keeper, so she gets her own honey. Yummy!

She also has chickens and ducks so she gets lovely fresh eggs - we found some!

She collects wool from her sheep and makes felt - which is lovely and soft and warm.

She is very careful and clever about recycling so we learned about worm farms and compost too.

Thank you Mrs Paterson! We had a wonderful day.
